QUESTION: The world is so chaotic right now! Between strikes and shortages, attacks in the Middle East, hurricanes and natural disasters… it feels like the world is falling apart! What in the world is going on? I find myself feeling frazzled about what to do to protect my family. I fear I haven’t done enough to be prepared.
ANSWER: These are most definitely the last days! Think of past times and how far we’ve come and gotten through hard things both personally and collectively. Take comfort in the Lord’s promise from D&C 38:30, “if ye are prepared ye shall not fear.” This does not say you have to be perfectly prepared. You can trust in the Lord’s promises. If you choose to anchor your thoughts in this truth, you will feel more trust, calm and faith which will lead you to be receptive to the Spirit about how to do a little at a time to continually prepare physically and spiritually. You will be more inclined to follow the prophet and head his council. You will be positioned well to be at peace and feel calm regardless of what happens in the world around you. We have been promised miracles to match the hardship, so keep an eye out for those too! Gratefully, we know who wins in the end!
